A Walk in the Park: 1,500 people walking all dedicated to improving the lives of people with Parkinson’s 

This week saw CROSSMARK's Client Manager Marissa Thermos complete "“A Walk In The Park” to raise awareness for Parkinson’s Victoria.

It is with great pride that we can support Marissa in a cause very close to her heart as she spreads her message to improve the quality of life for people with Parkinson's, and advance the search for a cure.

Here is her story....

"On Sunday 28th August together with family and friends I walked the “A Walk In The Park” for Parkinson’s Victoria to raise awareness and money for those living with Parkinson’s Disease and for research into finding a cure.

5 years ago my mum was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. There is currently no cure for Parkinson’s Disease and no indication on what causes the disease to occur in some and not others. The walk brought together people from all walks of life – those living with Parkinson’s, families and carers, and health professionals.

The atmosphere was fantastic, the sun was shining, and there were over 1,500 people walking all dedicated to improving the lives of people with Parkinson’s. Collectively our team “The Red Hot Milly Steppers” raised over $1900 and the whole event so far has raised over $185,000.

I’d like to say a HUGE thank you to those who supported this great cause, whether it be with a donation, by walking with us or by simply spreading the message. Hopefully one day we will have a cure".

Our Employee Engagement!

Cheryl Hornby - Talent Acquisition Manager (Corp)  / Monday, May 30, 2016

We aim to create real conversations on things that matter to our employees and we value the question ‘What can we do better?' 

Employee engagement is a top priority for CROSSMARK, a factor that has enabled our people to flourish in their roles. Whether office based or in field, we give our people real autonomy and accountability and we celebrate their achievements by identifying and highlighting employees that are making positive contributions to the CROSSMARK business in our monthly S.T.A.R. program (Special Thanks and Recognition).

Our S.T.A.R Program is about our people – the mark they can have on our company, the value they can add and the professional growth and skills that they develop.

The values we have in our company act as a guiding line in how we do things. Weaved in to the fabric of our organisation we share this vision and reward those who embody our values of Respect, Excellence, Accountability, Collaboration and Honour.

Success in CROSSMARK is all about our people. Our employees are our biggest competitive advantage. The collective efforts of everyone in the organisation allows us to consistently deliver growth solutions and exceptional service.

We try new things and constantly review what works and what doesn't. Through conversation and surveys, we listen to feedback from our employees. We don’t want to just tick boxes, we aim to create real conversations on things that matter to our employees and we valuethe question ‘What can we do better?’

Our light and airy offices are comfortable and enjoyable to be in – we have break-out areas so our team can work together on projects and mix up their environment.

Our employees can apply for part-time flexible work options, work from home in accordance with our policies, or work from one of our offices. We also foster a healthy environment through initiatives like a discounted gym membership, walking WIP’s, sports teams, weekly fruit deliveries and unique celebratory office events such a dodge-ball on trampolines!

The people are the very foundation that make CROSSMARK a great place to work, I love the work I do and CROSSMARK offers me perfect blend of culture and challenge. I am given the freedom, autonomy and flexibility in company that delivers transparency trust and communication.

CROSSMARK Host presents at the NSW Business Chamber!

CROSSMARK  / Monday, May 16, 2016

The CROSSMARK Host Program provides the human resources for companies to execute their sales and marketing strategy. 

CROSSMARK Host reached out to the NSW Business Chamber and its members, presenting the Host Program’s service offerings to the greater community. Client Relationship Manager, Lauren Ziervogel, represented the company and showcased the program's recent successes. It was the first time that CROSSMARK Host Program presented to the NSW Business Chamber and we were excited to showcase our solutions to assist their community providing advice on Headcount and HR concerns.

We manage your headcount, while you focus on your core business.

CROSSMARK Host Program provides a full human resources service for companies allowing their business to concentrate on executing their sales and marketing strategy.

Our clients range from large companies such as Telstra, Panasonic, and Universal Sony as well as fully supporting and providing a National Business Development Team for the American start-up company, First Title Insurance.

As part of our presentation to the NSW Business Chamber we highlighted the HOST Program is more than a recruitment agency. All of the above companies all have CROSSMARK staff working within their businesses in roles from Receptionists, Marketing Coordinators and Business Analysts to full Sales Teams and Senior Management roles. Thus, the Host Program has the ability to stand in place of a full HR department, managing KPI’s and performance targets and assisting our clients to achieve their sales and marketing goals

The Host Program has been a growing part of the CROSSMARK business for over 10 years now, under the guidance of Hilary Lamb, Director of People and Culture at CROSSMARK, and Managing Director of the Host Program.

To show our support for NSW Business Chamber and its Members we have a limited offer for new Host clients (click here!), we will waive the on boarding fee for the first 15 members to register interest and engage employees through the Host Program. That is a total saving of $1,500! (Please note this is for NSW Business Chamber Members only.)

For further information, please contact Lauren Ziervogel.
